Veera Simha Reddy Box Office Collection Day 2: With immense excitement and expectations, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s action film opened in theaters on 12th January. The film stars Shruti Haasan as the leading lady and marks her first collaboration with Balayya. On the first day, Veera Simha Reddy opened to packed houses in Telugu states. The film is said to be doing well in the international markets as well. However, things looked quite different on the second day as the film witnessed a major drop.

Written and directed by Gopichand Malineni, Veera Simha Reddy is touted to be a mass-action drama film. It shows various aspects of the film including action, emotions, fights, long monologues and dance numbers. Balakrishna appeared in a never seen before action avatar. The Bimbisara actor delivered powerful dialogues which alone is enough to describe his strong and intense character. These factors helped Veera Simha Reddy to open well at the box office. It collected Rs 48 crore worldwide from the first day of its theatrical run. Reportedly, Veera Simha Reddy collected Rs 36.2 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The rest came from other states in India and the US market.



On the second day, Veera Simha Reddy collected Rs 8.60 crore in India, according to trade reports. The film had an overall Telugu occupancy of 42.47% on Friday, 13 January.

Veera Simha Reddy revolves around his titular character, a powerful man who is born in Pulicharala, educated in Anantapur, and is now the most respected, god-like figure in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool. It features Balakrishna in dual roles of father and son, and also stars Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar. Apart from action and aggression, VSR also shows a strong emotional core.

On the other hand, Shruti Haasan along with Nandamuri rocked the songs of the film and also gave an emotional scene. Sarathkumar and Duniya Vijay appear as antagonists in the film, which stars Lal, Malayalam actress Honey Rose, Chandrika Ravi, Murali Sharma, Naveen Chandra and others in supporting roles. Cinematography by Rishi Punjabi, with S Thaman’s background score will definitely give you goosebumps.
