Varun Dhawan featured in the remake of Govinda’s film Coolie No. 1, which released on OTT last year. The film was remade by Varun’s father, who also directed the original 90s film. The new Coolie No. 1, which released in December 2020, had Sara Ali Khan as Varun’s heroine. The original film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor was a hit comedy, with many peppy dance numbers still popular today.
The 2020 version of the film revamped some old songs, and added some new ones to the soundtrack. One of the new songs that has become popular is ‘Teri Bhabhi’, which features Varun dancing as a coolie at the railway station, confessing his crush on Sara. This upbeat song became very popular after its release, and has been a common backdrop for reels on Instagram.
While Varun’s fans have been reeling on the song for some time now, the actor finally made his wife Natasha a part of one with him. Sharing the reel on Instagram, Varun wrote, ‘Your sister-in-law is Khadi. I had to ask Natasha Il(sic) to shoot it with someone else so she agreed to do the same. She may never do another reel with me, but she knows how much I love this song and how happy I am that it’s trending a whole year later, so she obliged.”
Proving the popularity of the song, actresses Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain also made a reel on it on the same day. The newly wed couple had formed a part of the video along with actor Karanvir Bohra. In the video, Karanvir is seen trying to flirt with Ankita when Vicky comes and asks her to leave.
Varun and Natasha tied the knot in February 2021 in a private ceremony in Alibaug. Despite being in a relationship with Varun for the longest time, fashion designer Natasha has always maintained a low profile.
