Varisu Vs Thunivu Box Office Collection Day 15: Shahrukh Khan‘Pathan’ has finally hit the theatres. It has broken several records at the box office in India and abroad, with the south market being a major contributor. Now, the big question is, will Pathan be able to give a tough fight against Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu, Ajith Kumar starrer Thunivu, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy and Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veeraiya, which are running successfully in the theatres?

Vijay and Ajith Kumar’s film hit the theaters on January 11 and is setting the box office on fire. They are doing remarkably well but after the release of Pathan let us know what the films have earned on their 15th day.

The stupendous performance of Vijay’s film at the box office has impressed many. Creating new records for the actor, the hit Tamil film has already become the second highest grosser of the actor. As per initial trade reports, on its 15th day of release, Warisu earned INR 1.35- 1.50 for all languages. With this the total collection of the film has gone up to Rs 156 crore. Varisu had an overall Tamil occupancy of 23.88% as on 25 January.

Thunivu has opened bigger than Warisu. The early figures of the film suggested that it would surpass Varisu by a huge margin. However, in a surprising move, Vijay’s film picked up momentum in the first week itself, leaving Ajith’s film far behind. On the 15th day of its release, Ajith’s film reportedly earned Rs 1 crore and the total collection of the film crossed Rs 109 crore. Thunivu had an overall Tamil occupancy of 26.08%.

Meanwhile, ‘Thunivu’ is all set to become Ajith’s highest grosser as it inches to break ‘Valimai’ collection. In the action packed film Thunivu, Ajith’s look as the ‘Boss Man’ steals the show. He has taken people hostage in a bank. Police is seen trying to identify him. But it is a mystery that slowly opens up. The action-packed film features Ajith sporting a white beard and white hair. Ajith Kumar plays a slightly negative character in the action thriller, and he impressed the fans with it.
