V Ananth Nageswaran takes over as new Chief Economic Adviser – Times of India

New Delhi: Ahead of the presentation of the Economic Survey, the government has asked Dr. Ananth Nageswaran As Chief Economic Adviser (CEA).
The Finance Ministry said in an official release on Friday that Dr. Nageswaran has taken charge as new cea,
Nageswaran successful Krishnamurthy Subramaniam who returned to the academia at the end of his three-year term in December 2021.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Nageswaran has worked as a writer, author, teacher and consultant. He has taught and published extensively at several business schools and management institutes in India and Singapore.
He was Dean of the IFMR Graduate School of Business and Distinguished Guest Professor of Economics at Kriya University.
Nageswaran has also been a part-time member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India from 2019 to 2021.
The role of the CEA requires the finance minister to advise on key policy matters, as well as being the lead author of the Economic Survey – the annual report card of the economy that will be presented to Parliament ahead of the budget on January 31.
