A newly elected village headman was killed while taking oath and three people accompanying him were injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Uttarakhand’s Tehri district on Wednesday. Landslides were also reported in several other parts, due to which the Badrinath highway near Sirobagad in Rudraprayag district was also blocked, officials said.
