Prime Minister Modi will launch several projects worth more than Rs 17500 crore in Haldwani today. top point

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haldwani in Uttarakhand on Thursday to inaugurate and lay foundation stones of 23 projects worth over Rs 17,500 crore. During the program, PM Modi is also likely to address the people.

The foundation stone for 17 projects worth over Rs 14,100 crore will be laid, and they cover sectors ranging from cross irrigation, roads, housing, health infrastructure, industry, sanitation to drinking water supply. Modi will inaugurate six projects, including several road widening exercises, a hydroelectric facility in Pithoragarh and improving the sewerage network in Nainital. The cumulative cost of the projects being inaugurated is over Rs 3,400 crore.

  1. The PM will lay the foundation stone for the Lakhwar multi-purpose project to be built at a cost of about Rs 5,750 crore. The project was first conceived in 1976 and was stuck before being revived by Modi’s vision of prioritizing long pending projects.
  2. In line with his vision of improving connectivity in the far flung places of the country, several road sector projects worth about Rs 8,700 crore will be inaugurated and foundation stone laid.
  3. In addition, the foundation stone of several road projects across the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana will also be laid by Modi. The projects include construction of 133 rural roads totaling 1,157 km at a cost of over Rs 625 crore and construction of 151 bridges at a cost of about Rs 450 crore.
  4. The strategic Tanakpur-Pithoragarh road will now have all-weather connectivity which will facilitate seamless movement of troops in the border areas and better connectivity for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
  5. As part of an exercise to expand the state’s medical infrastructure and provide world-class medical facilities in different parts of the country, Modi will lay the foundation stone of AIIMS Rishikesh Satellite Center and Jagjivan Ram Government Medical College in Udham Singh Nagar district.   6. Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of about 2400 houses for the economically weaker sections in Sitarganj and Kashipur towns of Udham Singh Nagar district.
  7. He will lay the foundation stone of 73 water supply schemes in 13 districts under Jal Jeevan Mission to improve tap water supply in rural areas of the state.

  9. Foundation stone will also be laid for 41 acre Aroma Park in Kashipur and 40 acre Plastic Industrial Park in Sitarganj.
  10. He will also inaugurate 5 MW capacity Suringad-II Hydroelectric Project constructed by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVN) Limited at Munsiyari in Pithoragarh district at a cost of about Rs 50 crore.
