Uttarakhand elections: Arvind Kejriwal promises free pilgrimage scheme if AAP comes to power

New Delhi: If the Aam Aadmi Party comes to power in Uttarakhand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday resolved to implement a free pilgrimage scheme for people from all tribes.

He said during a press conference in Haridwar that Hindus would be taken to Ayodhya, Muslims to Ajmer Sharif and Sikhs to Kartarpur Sahib under the free pilgrimage scheme.

“We have started a free pilgrimage scheme for the elderly in Delhi, under which they are taken free of cost in AC trains to 12 different pilgrimage sites across the country including Haridwar. Their food, lodging and lodging are all free. The AAP chief was quoted by PTI in its report.

According to Kejriwal, 36,000 people have already benefited from the programme.

He said that a free train would leave from Delhi on December 3 to take people to Ayodhya.

“If we come to power in the state, a similar free pilgrimage scheme will be launched for the people in Uttarakhand. Under this scheme Hindus will be taken to Ayodhya, Muslims will be taken to Ajmer Sharif and Sikhs will be taken to Kartarpur Sahib, which was recently opened,” the AAP said. National coordinator said.

According to Kejriwal, AAP is the only party in the country to focus on the challenges faced by the common man.

Kejriwal also spoke with autorickshaw drivers in Haridwar, promising to handle their issues in the same way in Delhi if AAP comes to power in the state.
