Uttarakhand: Char Dham pilgrims to get accident insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh

Insurance coverage will be provided to the pilgrims in case of accident in the premises of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Pilgrims of Char Dham Yatra will get insurance coverage of Rs 1 lakh in case of accident in the premises of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Insurance cover to the pilgrims will be provided by United India The media in-charge of Kedarnath-Badrinath Temple Committee, Harish Gaur told that Insurance Company Limited on behalf of Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti, a spiritual organization established by Uttarakhand Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj. He said that insurance coverage would be provided to the pilgrims in case of accidents in the premises of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Confirming the development, the Uttarakhand minister said that insurance coverage is being provided to Char Dham pilgrims in case of accident in the sacred memory of their father Hans Ji Maharaj and mother Raj Rajeshwari Ji. Ajendra Ajay, President of Kedarnath-Badrinath Temple Committee has expressed his gratitude to the Minister and Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti.

Since the start of Char Dham Yatra on May 3, more than 110 pilgrims have died so far mainly due to various diseases.
