Lucknow: Three sisters aged 5-9 die under mysterious circumstances Rae Bareli District girls father in two days Naveen Kumar Singh claimed they all consume biscuits And namkeen (breakfast), after which he fell ill and died.
The deceased have been identified as Pihu (5), Pari (7) and Vidhi (9), residents of Unchahar.
Explaining the sequence of events, Superintendent of Police Rae Bareli, Shlok KumarHe said the incident came to light on Saturday afternoon when some villagers informed the police that the last rites of the two dead children were being performed.
“A police team was immediately sent to the spot and both the bodies were retrieved and sent for post-mortem,” Kumar said.
The cause of death could not be ascertained in the post-mortem, while the viscera has been preserved. The SP said that no injury marks were found on his body.
After this, his second sister also died in the district hospital on Sunday.
“We are also questioning all the family members of the deceased girls and their fathers,” the SP said.
A team of forensic experts was sent to their home to collect samples of the food items consumed by the girls.
Meanwhile, Naveen Kumar Singh told reporters that last week he had returned to his village Rae Bareli from Bhopal for Dussehra. “On Friday, my three daughters ate namkeen, biscuits and then during the night they started complaining of nausea and vomiting and stomach ache,” Singh said.
“We took all three to NTPC hospital, which referred them to the district hospital. Pari and Vidhi were declared brought dead, while Pihu was undergoing treatment and died on Sunday,” Singh said.
