RK Vishwakarma, Director General, UPPR&PB, said, “We have received 12.5 lakh applications from both female and male candidates for the posts of sub-inspectors and plan to conduct the written examination in November.”
“We will conduct the written test by mid-November and declare the result by the end of the month. We will start the second phase of the physical test in early December. The entire process will be completed by the end of December,” Vishwakarma said.
“We had earlier advertised 1,329 confidential assistant posts for which we had received around 1.5 lakh applications, and will conduct the examination soon,” the DG said.
A senior board official said to the police It has recruited 1.44 lakh policemen in all its wings at various ranks since Yogi Adityanath took over as Chief Minister in 2017.
“Last year, around 5,042 constables were promoted to the rank of head constables and 717 head constables were promoted to the rank of platoon commander in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC). These promotions were due from 1988,” he said.
The state government also gave jobs in the police department to 2,281 dependents on compassionate grounds.
A senior official said that on the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, 46 inactive PAC units were restored and all necessary resources were arranged for their efficient operation.
