New Delhi: In line with his commitment to provide the best possible healthcare facilities to the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate seven new autonomous medical colleges on October 25.

After inspecting the site of the newly constructed Madhav Prasad Tripathi Government Autonomous Medical College and holding a meeting with the officials, informed Adityanath that Modi would inaugurate the medical colleges from Siddharth Nagar.

Where will new medical colleges be built in UP?

According to news agency ANI, Modi will inaugurate seven new medical hospitals from ‘the land of Buddha’ (Siddharthanagar). The Prime Minister will inaugurate Madhav Prasad Tripathi State Autonomous Medical College from here and virtually inaugurate medical colleges in the districts of Deoria, Etah, Hardoi, Ghazipur, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh.

Built under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, Adityanath said the new medical colleges would be named after great personalities of the country.

For example the medical college at Siddharthpur is named after Madhav Prasad Tripathi, the medical college of Deoria after the saint Maharishi Devraha Baba, the medical college at Ghazipur named after the sage Maharishi Vishwamitra, the medical college at Mirzapur named after Devi. It will be named after Vindhyavasini. Pratapgarh will be named after Dr. Sonelal Patel and finally Etah’s medical college will be named after freedom fighter Avantibai Lodhi.

Explaining the status of medical colleges, Adityanath said that two years ago he had announced to set up a medical college in Siddharth Nagar district and now it is ready.

Along with this, seven medical colleges of the state have got recognition from the National Medical Council.

Admission process for 100-100 MBBS seats will be started through NEET in all these medical colleges from this session. The objective of this medical college is not only to provide benefits to the people of Siddharth Nagar but also to provide best medical facilities to the people of Balrampur, Maharajganj and neighboring Nepal.
