Agra: Two cow protector was allegedly attacked by a group of people from the minority community in Mathura On Sunday, when they forcibly entered their homes on suspicion of cow slaughter. Police said that no evidence of any such act was found at the site of the incident.

Members of the minority community alleged that these men were trying to steal their buffalo when two of them were caught.
Angered by this, many people closed their shops to protest. Police was deployed in the area to maintain law and order. Police said that the situation is under control now. Meanwhile, Sharma said his team reached the area after getting “informed”. He said people pelted stones at his group and later attacked two members who were seriously injured.
SP (City) MP Singh told TOI that an FIR was registered against 14 people under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 147 (rioting), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) based on a complaint lodged by Sharma at the Kotwali police station. An investigation is ongoing.
