KANPUR: The manager of a degree college, his wife and 20-year-old son were found dead in their Gurhai Mohalla residence in Auraiya district on Thursday morning.
Police investigation revealed that all the three died of bullet injuries. The police have recovered the manager’s licensed revolver from the spot.
Sandeep Porwal (47), living in Guruhai locality, was a manager of Prakash Chandra Mahavidyalaya. Besides, he was a leading businessman and used to run his building material and paint shop.
He was living with his wife Meera (44), elder son Shivam and younger son Omji (17) in Gurhai Mohalla under the limits of Kotwali police station. His two brothers also live with their families in the same locality.
On Thursday morning, the bodies of Sandeep, his wife and son Shivam were found in a pool of blood on the second floor of the house. All three had been shot.
After getting the information, local police along with forensic experts rushed to the spot and sent all the bodies for post-mortem and initiated investigations.
Police are interrogating class XI student Omji, the younger son of Sandeep.
At the time of the incident, he was in a room on the first floor of the house. After preliminary investigation, the police have raised suspicion that Sandeep shot himself after first shooting his wife and son.
Additional superintendent of police Shisya Pal said, “The investigation of the case is going on. We will reach any conclusion only after the autopsy report and further findings. However, prima facie it appears that the college manager shot himself after killing his wife and son.”
