Prayagraj: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday moved an application before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Prayagraj, seeking polygraph examination of three accused in the mysterious death of Anand Giri, Aadhya Tiwari and their son Sandeep Tiwari, Mahant Narendra Giri. was demanded. matter.
The CJM court will hear the application on October 18. The accused will be connected through video conferencing to present their case before the court.
CBI in its application has sought permission for polygraph test of the accused to know the truth in connection with the ongoing interrogation in connection with the said case. On the other hand, the counsel for the accused also made an application against the polygraph test.
Anand Giri, Aadhya Tiwari and Sandeep Tiwari have been accused of abetting the suicide of the then President Narendra Giri. Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), whose body was found hanging from the ceiling of a room at Shree Math Baghambari Gaddi under Georgetown police station area of ​​Prayagraj on September 20, 2021.
Mahant in his suicide note had accused all three of mental torture.
An FIR was registered against the three accused at the Georgetown police station in Prayagraj under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
After this, Anand Giri, Aadya Tiwari and Sandeep Tiwari were arrested. He was produced in the CJM Court on 22 September and sent to 14 days judicial custody.
Later, on the recommendation of the state government, the investigation of the case was transferred from the UP Police to the CBI.
In another phase, acting on the CBI’s application, the CJM on October 5 extended the judicial custody of the three accused for a further period of 14 days. At present, all of them are lodged in Naini Central Jail.
