Kanpur: Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav Reached Kanpur on Thursday and met the family of Manish GuptaThe businessman who died during a police raid on Monday night at a hotel in Gorakhpur.
He supported the demand for a CBI inquiry into the victim’s family and said that the government should help the family as ex-gratia of Rs 2 crore apart from government job to Manish’s wife.
Akhilesh demanded immediate suspension of the District Magistrate (DM) and Senior Superintendent of Police.SSP) Gorakhpur for “trying to persuade the family not to press for an FIR against the accused policemen”. He said that it is the responsibility of the police to protect the victim’s family.
Addressing the media persons after meeting the bereaved family, Yadav said that “in” BJP Government, police are killing people instead of providing security. “Earlier such behavior of police was not seen in anyone’s government. Such incidents are happening continuously under the rule of BJP. In the BJP government, the police are constantly involved in murder and loot.
“The intention of this government is not clear. Deaths are happening in police custody. The Human Rights Commission has given the maximum number of notices to the BJP-led state government.
He said that when the BJP gets the police and the DM to do wrong things, the result will be the same.
“Action is not being taken against the police and officials as the government has done wrong to them. The people who have done this incident are not common people. It is learned that similar incidents have happened in Unnao and Gorakhpur. hard to meet Justice Unless there is a judicial inquiry. Justice cannot be expected under BJP rule.
The SP chief said that the BJP government works to kill the truth. The officers involved in the businessman murder case are such that booths were looted in Amroha under their supervision. A fair investigation is not possible in Gorakhpur. So the investigation should be done in Kanpur.”
Yadav said that no one can even imagine what happened to Manish Gupta. “This incident is sad and unimaginable. The level of police in the BJP government has gone below the zero level of sensitivity.
