Texas Shopping Mall Shooting: One person was killed and three others were injured in a Wednesday shooting at a shopping mall in El Paso, Texas, police said Thursday.
One person has been taken into custody, El Paso police spokesman Sgt. Robert Gomez said.
No immediate information was given about that person. “It’s too early to speculate on motive,” Gomez said.
He said that all the three injured people have been admitted to the hospital.
His condition was not known.
Gomez said police believe the scene is secure and officers are combing the entire mall to confirm this.
Officials have set up a reunification center at a nearby high school.
Wednesday’s shooting happened in a busy shopping area and in a large Walmart parking lot, where 23 people were killed in a racist attack in 2019.
