US Market Important For Nothing Phone (2): Carl Pei

New Delhi: Carl Pei, founder of consumer electronics brand Nothings, has said that making smartphones is not for the faint of heart and the US market is crucial for the new device, which will be released in July. In an interview with Forbes, Pei said that he has seen encouraging results with the phones (1).

Pei was quoted as saying, “The US is a very Apple-dominated market with no real options for people looking for alternatives, which represents a good opportunity for the phone (2). “

The Phone (2) will have a 4,700 mAh capacity (an increase from 4,500 mAh in the previous generation phone) and an 80 percent improvement in overall performance compared to the Phone (1), the report revealed.

According to the report, the London-based brand has sold around 750,000 phones. Last week, Pei said that the Phone (2) will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 series chipset, which is a clear upgrade from the Phone (1).

In a tweet, Pei said its initial tests show that app opening speeds on the Phone (2) are up to twice as fast as those on the Phone (1), “with an impressive 80 percent improvement in overall performance”.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 features an 18-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) capable of capturing up to 4,000 times more camera data than the ISP used on phones (1).

“As a result, the phone’s (2) camera offers advanced features such as RAW HDR and 4K recording at 60 fps,” informed Pei. He added that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has been thoroughly tested and continuously optimized through multiple updates.
