Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) is all set to release the result for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2021 (UPTET 2021) soon. The results were earlier scheduled to be released on February 25, but were postponed at the last minute due to the Uttar Pradesh elections. Once the result is declared, candidates will be able to access their scorecard online at updeled.gov.in. UPTET scorecard will be issued along with the final answer key for the qualifying examination.
UPTET consists of two papers, each containing 150 questions. Candidates who qualify to teach classes 1 to 5 will have to clear paper 1 while those for teaching classes 6 to 8 will have to clear paper 2. To teach in classes 1 to 8, candidates have to clear both the papers.
Over 18.2 lakh candidates had appeared for the UPTET 2021, which was conducted on January 23. A provisional answer key was released after the exam, allowing the candidates to assess their performance in the exam.
UPTET 2021 Expected Cutoff
To qualify for UPTET 2021, general candidates need to score a minimum of 60 percentile or 90 marks out of 150. There is a relaxation of 5 percent in the eligibility criteria for the candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes, (OBC), SC and ST categories. Such candidates need to obtain 55 percentile or 82.5 marks out of 100.
Those who qualify for UPTET 2021 exam will be eligible to apply for future government teaching recruitment in UP. Candidates should note that mere qualification of UPTET does not guarantee job. Earlier, the validity of UPTET qualification was five years but UPBEB recently extended it for lifetime.
