Saumya Pandey secured All India 4th Rank in Civil Services Examination
People work hard to become an IAS officer but some people still do not believe in themselves. In such a situation, when success comes, it comes as a sweet surprise. Something similar happened with Prayagraj-born IAS officer Saumya Pandey. A video of Saumya is going viral on social media in which she is telling that when the final result of UPSC came, she started seeing her name at the bottom of the list. When she did not see the name for a long time, she became disheartened. But when he checked the list from above, his happiness knew no bounds. He not only cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination but also topped it. He had an All India 4th rank in the Civil Services Examination.
IAS Saumya Pandey belongs to 2016 batch. He cracked UPSC in his very first attempt. Talking about Soumya’s academic record, she had scored 98 per cent in class 10th and 97.8 per cent in class 12th. Apart from this, she was also a Gold Medalist in Engineering College.
IAS Saumya Pandey tells that she had given the exam in 2016. The result came in 2017. He had downloaded the PDF file of UPSC Civil Services Exam Result but could not muster the courage to see the name. Only then his mother said to start looking at the name from below. When the name didn’t show up, she told her mother that she would prepare better in the next attempt and make sure of it. But his mother asked him to check the name that who has topped. When my name appeared in the toppers, my mother and I could not believe it. He checked the result with his roll number and realized that the result was indeed his.
IAS Saumya Pandey is currently serving in Uttar Pradesh. Saumya says that preparation for prelims should start with the basics. For this there is no better option than NCERT books.
Soumya is very interested in studies as well as in activities like sports and dance. She has also learned classical dance and is also a basketball player. Apart from this, he is also an NCC B and C certificate holder.
