The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday signed an MoU to set up medical colleges in the state’s Sambhal and Maharajganj districts under public-private partnership mode. The MoU was signed in the presence of CM Yogi Adityanath at his official residence here, a statement said.
Adityanath said that medical colleges are being established through PPP mode for the first time in the state and asked the medical education department to proceed in a time bound manner. The Chief Minister said that the work of setting up a medical college is being taken forward by reputed institutions – Shri Siddhi Vinayak Trust, Bareilly and Shanti Foundation Trust, Maharajganj.
He said that the construction of medical colleges would be taken forward on a war footing with the participation of the private sector. He said that the state government has set a target to establish medical colleges in Maharajganj and Sambhal districts by 2024.
