UP Elections: Polling Stalled In Lakhimpur As Fevikwik Found In EVM Button, Case Registered

Superglue, Fevikwik, which is used for adhesive bonding was found in an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) during the polling at Lakhimpur Kheri for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

In Uttar Pradesh, voting is going on in 59 seats in 9 districts in the fourth phase of UP Elections. 52.92% of voters exercised their right till 3 pm in Lakhimpur Kheri. Amid polling, a strange case has come to light from the Sadar assembly constituency of Lakhimpur Kheri.

There was a stir in the Kadipur Sani village of Sadar assembly constituency when an unknown young person put fevikwik in the EVM. The button was jammed due to the insertion of fevikwik and polling was disrupted for a long time.

“As soon as the information was received, officers and a large number of police forces reached the spot, as well as an FIR, has been lodged at Kheri police station,” Sanjeev Suman, SP Lakhimpur told ABP Live.

In the fourth phase, 2.13 crore voters will decide the fate of 624 candidates. Of these, 91 are women candidates. 16 seats are reserved in this phase.
