UP Elections: PM Modi holds mega roadshow in Varanasi, offers prayers at Kashi Vishwanath

During the roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a large number of people in Varanasi on Friday welcomed him with flowers and folded hands. The mega roadshow was led by the PM in his constituency Varanasi, which goes to the polls in the seventh phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on March 7.

The road show started from Maldahiya intersection and ended at Chowk. Re-creating history, as reported by Hindustan Times, the PM began his roadshow from the same place where he held his first roadshow after filing his nomination in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Before the road show, PM Modi garlanded the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on reaching his Lok Sabha constituency.

According to reports, after the roadshow, PM will go to Kashi Vishwanath temple and offer prayers. After this, the PM will also address a rally in Khajuria village as part of the campaign for the last phase of the UP elections. Later, the PM will spend the night at the Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) guest house in the city, the report said.

Varanasi Lok Sabha seat comprises of five assembly constituencies, which are Rohaniya, Varanasi North, Varanasi South, Varanasi Cantt and Sewapuri. The counting of votes for this election will take place on March 10.
