Ashoka University has announced its first merit-cum-means scholarship for exceptional undergraduate students applying for the 2022 admissions. Students wishing to major in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics or Computer Science can apply for the scholarship. The University will award 25 scholarships in addition to the need-based financial aid available to all students.
Out of these 25 students, 5 candidates will get 100 per cent rebate on tuition and residency, and the remaining 20 will get 100 per cent rebate on tuition. Candidates interested in applying should have received an offer of confirmation of admission in accordance with the existing overall admission process. Scholarship recipient students must maintain a minimum 3.5 CGPA in each semester to be eligible to receive the scholarship for the next academic year.

Students are then checked their academic cut-off on the basis of 12th class board marks or national entrance exam for their eligibility to avail this scholarship. The criteria required for screening based on Class 12 board marks would be 98 percentile and above for CBSE and CICSE board students, or IB scores 41/42, or Cambridge A*A*A grades.
Applicants who have either secured 98 per cent or more in JEE Mains, or have a rank of 600 or more in national entrance examinations, or those with valid Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) scholarships received in the year 2021 are also eligible for screening. are eligible for.
In addition to academic requirements, candidates with exceptional achievements or contributions in the field of pure science/computer science may be invited to apply for the scholarship on a case-by-case basis.
Students applying for the scholarship are also required to have a family income of less than 40 lakhs per annum (pre-tax) for the financial year 2021-22 and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) to study the desired science major at Ashoka .
For shortlisted candidates, the application form will be open for five days. A scholarship committee will evaluate the candidates on the basis of the quality of their SOPs and the assessment of their family income. Some students may also be required to appear for a personal interview with the committee, the university said.
