UP Elections: BJP did not give ticket to Speaker Dixit, Minister Swati Singh. Lucknow News – Times of India

Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party have fielded Rajeshwar SinghFormer Joint Director of ED, Se Sarojininagar seat Denied ticket to Lucknow minister Swati Singh, With 17 names released on Tuesday, the party’s eighth list has a few more shocking ones.
BJP has not given ticket to Speaker and veteran BJP MLA from Bhagwant Nagar of Unnao Hriday Narain Dixit, Ashutosh Shukla has been replaced in his place. Law Minister Brajesh Pathak, who won from Lucknow Central in 2017, has been shifted to Lucknow Cantonment, which was eyeing several candidates including sitting MLA Suresh Tiwari and Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav. Recently left SP and joined BJP.
In another surprise, Rajneesh Gupta was fielded from Lucknow Central. There were speculations that Pathak’s seat would be changed. Sources said that Pathak was initially keen to contest from Lucknow Cantonment, however, due to too many contenders from the seat, BJP insiders were not sure about him getting the ticket.
Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon, Neeraj Bora from Lucknow North and Jaya Devi, wife of Union Minister Kaushal Kishor from Malihabad, managed to retain their seats.
After much deliberation, Lucknow West has gone to Anjani Srivastava, a loyal BJP worker over the years. However, like Suresh Tiwari of Lucknow Cantonment, this time Avinash Trivedi has not been given a ticket from Bakshi Ka Talab.
Yogesh Shukla has succeeded in getting ticket from Bakshi Ka Talab in place of Trivedi. Similarly, Amresh Kumar has been successful in getting ticket from Mohanlalganj assembly constituency.
BJP also expressed surprise outside Lucknow as it has decided to field Manish Rawat from Sidhauli, who had switched over to BJP from Samajwadi Party a few days back. Rawat is the son-in-law of former Samajwadi Party MP Sushila Saroj. Interestingly, the Samajwadi Party has fielded Anurag Bhadauria, who is also the son-in-law of Sushila Saroj, from Lucknow East.
In another surprise, BJP has fielded Amarpal Maurya, UP BJP general secretary and in-charge of Awadh region, from Unchahar. Maurya will challenge Manoj Pandey, a former minister in the Akhilesh government.
In neighboring Sitapur district, the party has given ticket to Shashank Trivedi from Maholi and Rakesh Rathore ‘Guru’ from Sitapur Sadar. Among others, Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay, a minister in the Yogi government, has been retained from Chitrakoot.
