UP Elections 2022: Jats, BJP fighting Mughals for 650 years, says Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday called on Jat community leaders to support the saffron party as both were engaged in fighting the same enemy, the Mughals. .

Shah, wearing a turban symbolizing the identity of the Jat community, told an anecdote in which he was asked about his centuries-old association with the community. “I was asked that we are only 50 years old party, so how are we fighting together for 650 years. I said that you fought with the Mughals, we are also fighting them. This is our relationship. Now we are doing it too,” Shah said.

He also mentioned that under the BJP government, the state has not witnessed any riots.

BJP MPs Satyapal Singh and Sanjeev Balyan along with BJP West UP President Mohit Beniwal were also present in the meeting.
