UP Elections 2022: Another BJP MLA Resigns After Swami Prasad Maurya Is Mukesh Verma

Dr. Mukesh Verma, BJP MLA from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh has resigned from the party just before the 2022 assembly elections. Verma has followed his leader, former minister Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the BJP to join the Samajwadi Party.

In his resignation letter, Verma said that the BJP has neglected Dalits, OBCs and minorities in the last five years, and thus, he has decided to quit the party.

In his resignation letter, he gave the reason for leaving the party and said that the government has ignored the demands of small and medium sectors.

He said that Swami Prasad Maurya is their leader and he is with them!

Just a day ago, BJP minister Swami Prasad Maurya has resigned from the cabinet. Maurya, who resigned as a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government a day ago, said on Wednesday that he would join Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) on Friday, January 14.

“I will join Samajwadi Party on January 14. I have not received calls from any big or small politician. Had he been alert on time and worked on public issues, the BJP would not have faced this.

The BJP is facing a small exodus from the party as Verma joins other BJP leaders to quit the party.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav met the leaders of allies and discussed the seat-sharing formula. The meeting took place in Lucknow on Wednesday.
