Lucknow: A dentist has been sent to judicial custody by a local court in Sultanpur for forging the signature of a Union minister. Smriti Irani On the fake document related to the appointment of international shooter Vartika Singh As a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW).
The court proceedings came in connection with the FIR lodged by Vijay Gupta, an aide of Union Women and Child Welfare Minister Irani on November 23, 2020. lodged in the FIR Musafirkhana Amethi Thana Gupta had accused Vartika and former Congress MP Kamal Kishore Commando of circulating prima facie fake documents on social media to malign the image of the Union Minister.
In the documents, Vartika Singh had alleged that Vijay Gupta had duped her of Rs 25 lakh by assuring her of her appointment as a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW) through a Union minister.
Musafirkhana police station in-charge inspector Parshuram Ojha told TOI that during investigation, it emerged that the documents circulated by Vartika Singh with the help of the former MP were actually prepared by Dr Rajnish Kumar, a dental surgeon in collusion with Vartika Singh, to target the image . central minister.
Ojha said, “We had filed a charge sheet against Vartika Singh, Dr Rajnish Kumar on charges of dishonesty, forgery, forgery of valuable documents.” Dr Rajnish Kumar reportedly went underground after the chargesheet was filed following which the police approached the court seeking a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him.
Ojha said that on Friday, the dentist surrendered before the court as the police had put pressure on him by initiating action to attach his property. Rajnish Kumar appeared in the court of Special Judge MP/MLA PK Jayant, from where he was sent to judicial custody till September 17.
Meanwhile, Vartika Singh has also filed a petition in the court saying that she is also a victim of this case.
