Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the cabinet reshuffle initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and inducting new ministers in his team is indeed a representation of the whole of India.
In a series of tweets in Hindi, Adityanath said. He said, “The kind of public representation and public participation which was envisaged by our eminent personalities, especially thinkers like Babasaheb (BR Ambedkar) and (Ram Manohar) Lohia ji, is being fulfilled under the leadership of Modi ji. “
“Lohia ji was of the view that mature democracy is possible only by giving power to the backward classes. The Prime Minister has given constitutional status to the OBC commission, and has also given representation to the OBC leadership in the council of ministers. Had Lohia ji been alive, the seeds of his ideas would have grown. He was happy to see them.”
Hitting out at the opponents, Adityanath said some people are opposing the “positive change” that the country is witnessing.
“To these people, Lohia ji had said that when the great work of social change begins, some people oppose it out of anger (‘passion’). These are the same people who opposed the formation of OBC commission, and also insulted Babasaheb. These people never followed a single principle of Lohia ji in their dealings.”
In another tweet, Adityanath said, “Today the followers of Babasaheb and Lohia ji will accept that Modi ji’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ has truly validated the soul of the Constitution. For this we I am grateful to the Prime Minister.”
