UP: CJM rejects CBI’s plea for lie detector test of Narendra Giri’s death accused. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) on Monday rejected the application for polygraph test. Anand GiriAadhya Prasad and his son Sandeep TiwariThree accused in Mahant death of narendra giri case, because the accused had not given his consent for the trial.
However, on the request of Chief Judicial Magistrate Harendra Nath central bureau (CBI) extended the judicial custody of the three accused till October 30, which is the next date of hearing in the case.
Earlier on October 12, the CBI had filed an application in the CJM court for the polygraph test of Anand Giri, Aadhya Prasad and Sandeep Tiwari.
All the accused in the mysterious death of Narendra Giri on Monday appeared from jail through video conferencing and refused to give consent for the polygraph test, alleging that the CBI has filed this application only to harass them. Since the consent of the accused is required for this trial, the CJM court rejected the CBI’s application.
The CBI, in its application, had requested the CJM court to pass an order for polygraph test of Anand Giri, Aadhya Prasad and their son Sandeep Tiwari, who were in jail for abetting the suicide of then Mahant Mahant Narendra Giri. Baghambari Math.
The CBI in its application had sought permission for polygraph test of the accused to know the truth in connection with the ongoing interrogation in connection with the said case. On the other hand, the counsel for the accused also moved an application opposing the trial.
On September 20, 2021, the body of Narendra Giri was found hanging from the ceiling of a room in Shri Math Baghambari Gaddi of Georgetown police station area of ​​Prayagraj.
Mahant in his suicide note had accused all three of mental torture.
An FIR was registered against the three accused under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Georgetown police station in Prayagraj.
After this, Anand Giri, Aadya Tiwari and Sandeep Tiwari were arrested. He was produced in the CJM Court on 22 September and sent to 14 days judicial custody.
Later, on the recommendation of the state government, the investigation of the case was transferred from the UP Police to the CBI.
In another phase, acting on the CBI’s application, the CJM on October 5 extended the judicial custody of the three accused for a further period of 14 days. At present, all of them are lodged in Naini Central Jail here.
