UP becomes first state to introduce over 9 crore COVID vaccines

Uttar Pradesh has become the first Indian state to have over nine crore people vaccinated against Kovid. The state has given a total of 9.01 crore vaccine doses since the launch of the nationwide COVID vaccination campaign in January, an official spokesperson said on Thursday. The state has given over 3,61,787 doses of the vaccine till late Wednesday, taking the total number to 9,01,51,915.

According to an official release, the focused COVID vaccination campaign in Uttar Pradesh has ensured that over 1,53,61,007 people in the state have been fully vaccinated. More than 7,47,90,900 people have been vaccinated in the state from the first dose.

It took nearly 100 days for Uttar Pradesh to deliver the first 10 million doses of the vaccine. After this it took 45 days to cross the 2 crore mark and 59 more days to vaccinate 5 crore people.

After this, the state took 14 days to reach the figure of 6 crores and till August 28, it took another 11 days to deliver 7 crore doses. It took just 9 more days to cross the 8 crore mark on 7th September.
