Today i.e. on February 2, a cabinet meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, a decision can be taken on the stalled DA arrears of the employees. According to the information, the meeting of the Union Cabinet will be held at 3:30 pm.

Actually, a decision has not been taken yet to release the DA of central employees who have been stuck for 18 months, but according to the information, a decision can be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held today. The government is planning to settle by paying DA arrears in a single installment.

The arrears are to be met from 1st January 2020 to 30th June 2021.
The Center had stopped the payment of DA and DR with effect from 1 January 2020 due to Kovid-19. Due to this, 18 months DA-DR has not been paid to central employees and pensioners from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. Now hope to get it soon. According to media reports, the amount of outstanding DA arrears can be given under One Time Settlement.

Prime Minister can solve the matter
The matter of 18 months arrears has reached Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Pensioners Forum of India has also written a letter to the Prime Minister regarding arrears payment. The BMS has also appealed to the Prime Minister to intervene in this matter and direct the Finance Ministry to release the arrears of DA, DR withheld between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021 at the earliest.
