Officials said that Gaurav Tikait, brother of Rakesh Tikait and son of BKU president Naresh Tikait, lodged a complaint that he received a call from an unknown person who threatened to target Rakesh Tikait.

Police said on Friday that an unknown person has threatened to blow up Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait and his family if they do not dissociate themselves from the farmers’ protests.

Rakesh Tikait was one of the farmer leaders who led the movement against the now repealed farm laws. He continues to participate in protests by farmer groups across the country.

At a Jat Mahakumbh in Jaipur earlier this month, Rakesh Tikait called upon farmers to prepare for agitation against the ban on diesel tractors older than 10 years.
