Patiala: In another attempt of sacrilege, a 21-year-old accused has been arrested in Patiala and sent in two days. Police remand.
Police claimed that the accused allegedly tried to desecrate Sikh The holy book but was immediately captured by the Gurdwara Granthi (priest).
The incident happened at around 11 am on Wednesday, when the accused had reached Gurdwara Sahib Maddo. In Majra started praying out loud before proceeding towards the village Guru Granth Sahib,
Satnam Singh, the granthi of the village gurdwara, said, “When the accused tried to take the Guru Granth Sahib, the sangat was not present there. But, I caught him immediately. Later other devotees and villagers gathered there and the accused was handed over to the police. Despite our repeated inquiries, the accused did not tell anything. He is a resident of the same village and we are questioning the villagers about his past activities.
