Under-19 Asia Cup 2021: India beat Afghanistan by 4 wickets to enter semi-finals

New DelhiIndia’s Under-19 team defeated Afghanistan by 4 wickets on Monday to make it to the semi-finals of the Under-19 Asia Cup. On Thursday, India will now play the semi-final match against Pakistan.

Batting first, Afghanistan made a score of 259/4. In reply, Team India won the match by 4 wickets with the help of Harnoor Singh’s brilliant half-century and scored 65 runs in 74 balls with the help of 9 fours.

Earlier, he had led Team India to victory by scoring a match-winning century. Another important contribution came from Raj Bawa, who scored 43 not out.

For Afghanistan, Aijaz Ahmed Ahmedzai acted with the bat as he smashed a swashbuckling 86 off just 68 balls. Ahmedzai’s innings also included 7 long sixes. Apart from him, Suleiman Safi contributed 73 runs in 86 balls.

Harnoor Singh’s performance in the Under 19 Asia Cup has been excellent. He has scored 120, 46 and 65 runs in this tournament and is touted as India’s next superstar. So far this young Indian young batsman has scored 231 runs in 3 matches in the tournament.

Team India is currently in second place in Group A in the points table of ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2021. India has played 3 matches so far and won two matches.

Pakistan, having won all their three matches, are at the first place in Group A.

In Group B, Bangladesh is first and Sri Lanka is second. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka both have four points each, but Bangladesh are ranked first in Group B due to high net run rate.
