British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have started a “crazy, manly war” against Ukraine if he were a woman.
In an interview with German media at the end of the G7 summit in Schloss Elmau this week, Johnson pointed to Putin’s mechanisms as a contributing factor in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
She called for more women in “positions of power” as a measure towards global peace.

Johnson told broadcaster ZDF, “If Putin was a woman, which she clearly isn’t, if she were, I don’t think she would have engaged in a crazy, manly war of aggression and violence.” ,
“If you want a perfect example of toxic masculinity, that’s what he’s doing,” he said, referring to the 69-year-old Russian president.
During the recent G7 summit in Germany, leaders of the powerful bloc mocked Putin over his infamous bare-chested photo on a horse.
Asked about Johnson’s remarks, the prime minister’s official spokesman said it was “not a deliberate policy”, adding: “The British public will expect the leader to be strong with someone who murders innocent civilians every day.” Will be.”
Johnson’s remarks come ahead of a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) meeting in Madrid where Western allies will discuss how to respond to future threats.
At the summit, Johnson is set to call on fellow members of the Defensive Coalition to step up defense spending.
Meanwhile, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) announced new sanctions targeting Putin’s “inner circle”, which includes Vladimir Potanin – Russia’s second richest man and owner of the leading conglomerate Interros.
Potanin continues to raise funds as he supports Putin’s regime, acquires Rosbank, and shares in Tinkoff Bank since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the FCDO said.
Putin’s cousin and the chairman of JSC Kolmar Group, the leading Russian coal mining company, Anna Tsivileva has also been approved.
Tsivaleva’s husband, Sergei Sailev, is the governor of the coal-rich Kemerovo region, and the couple has benefited greatly from their relationship with Putin. JSC Kolmar Group is also being approved.
“As long as Putin continues his hateful attacks on Ukraine, we will use sanctions to undermine the Russian war machine. Today’s sanctions show that nothing and no one is off the table, including Putin’s inner circle, A UK government spokesman said.
The UK government said it was also approving a group of Russian individuals and companies for their involvement in supporting the Assad regime in Syria and repressing civilians.
