Basti (Uttar Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that his government will do whatever possible to bring back all the Indian citizens stranded in Ukraine.
“By running Operation Ganga, we are bringing back thousands of Indians home. Our sons, daughters still stranded in Ukraine will be brought back,” said Prime Minister Modi.
“The government is working day and night for them…Wherever there is trouble, we left no stone unturned to bring our citizens back,” he added addressing a rally in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, ANI reported.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came a day after he spoke with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.
President Zelensky during the conversation briefed Prime Minister Modi in detail about the ongoing conflict situation in Ukraine.

Expressing deep anguish about the loss of life and property due to the ongoing conflict, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his call for an immediate cessation of violence and a return to dialogue.
He expressed India’s willingness to contribute in any way towards peace efforts.
Prime Minister Modi also conveyed New Delhi’s deep concern for the safety and security of Indian citizens, including students, present in Ukraine.
He sought facilitation by the Ukrainian authorities to expeditiously and safely evacuate the Indian citizens.
Meanwhile, the fourth Operation Ganga flight with the Indian evacuees from Ukraine has set off from Bucharest for New Delhi.
External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar said 198 Indian nationals are coming back to India.
“Fourth #OperationGanga flight is wheels up from Bucharest. 198 Indian nationals are coming back to Delhi,” he tweeted.
Earlier this morning, the third flight of Operation Ganga with 240 Indian nationals from Budapest landed in New Delhi.
The Ukrainian airspace has been closed for civil aircraft operations following the country’s ongoing tensions with Russia.
The Indian evacuation flights are, therefore, operating out of Romanian capital Bucharest and Hungarian capital Budapest.
