New Delhi: Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will make a statement on the current situation in the country. Ukraine 2.30 pm Rajya Sabha Today.
In the second part of the budget session in Parliament, Jaishankar will speak on the rescue operation to evacuate Indian students from the war zone in Ukraine and India’s stand on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
On 24 February, the Central Government started ‘Operation Ganga’ to bring back the stranded Indians from Ukraine.

So far, India has managed to rescue around 22,500 stranded citizens in over 80 special evacuation flights. India has also been successful in rescuing many citizens of neighboring countries like Bangladesh and Nepal through its ‘Operation Ganga’.
During the operation, buses and trains carried Indians to the western borders of Ukraine and they were brought to India via places like Bucharest, Budapest, Suceava and Warsaw.
The last batch of over 600 students evacuated from Sumi were brought back to India via Poland.
In recent months, ‘Operation Ganga’ has been India’s biggest evacuation operation to bring back stranded Indians after the Narendra Modi government launched Operation ‘Devi Shakti’ in Afghanistan last year.
