Klymenko was officially appointed to the role of deputy interior minister, but will carry out ministerial responsibilities.
Ukraine’s government on Wednesday appointed national police chief Ihor Klemenko as acting interior minister, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
Shmyhal announced the appointment hours after the death of previous minister Denis Monastirsky in a helicopter crash near Kyiv. He said that Clemenceau was officially appointed to the role of Deputy Interior Minister, but that he would carry out the responsibilities of the minister.
