Two days after a 27-year-old Telangana woman was stabbed to death in the United Kingdom, a man has been charged with murder and the attempted murder of his friend at a residential address in Wembley. The Metropolitan Police said 23-year-old Keven Antonio Lourenco de Morais, previously referred to as a Brazilian national, has been remanded in police custody to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court in London.

The deceased has been identified as Kontham Tejaswi, a native of Hayathnagar area of ​​Hyderabad. Two other people, a man and a woman, arrested in connection with the murder investigation at the crime scene have now been released without further action.

What are the charges against the accused?

“Keven Antonio Lourenco de Morais was charged with the murder of Tejaswini Koontham and the attempted murder of another woman on Thursday, June 15,” the Met police said in a statement. Wembley, along with the London Ambulance Service and found Tejaswini and another woman, 28, suffering from stab wounds.

A second victim of the knife attack has been named locally as Akhila, also from India, who remains in hospital but is said to be out of danger. “On behalf of Indian students in the UK, we extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends and pray that her soul rest in peace,” INSA UK said in a statement regarding Tejaswini.

What did the parents of the deceased say?

Tejaswini’s father told the media, “We came to know about the incident on June 14. We don’t know when it happened. We got information that she is serious and is in the hospital.” Her father said that she had gone to London three years ago and completed her MS course there.

The Metropolitan Police had previously released a photo of Brazilian citizen Keven Antonio Lourenço de Moris, asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect behind the attack. The 23-year-old man has now been arrested from Harrow near the crime scene on Neil Crescent in Wembley. Meanwhile, the victim’s uncle requested the government to make necessary arrangements to bring her body from UK to Hyderabad.
