UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid tests Covid positive, says symptoms are mild as he has been fully vaccinated

UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid said on Saturday that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating at home with mild symptoms. In a tweet, the senior cabinet minister wrote: “This morning I tested positive for COVID. I am waiting for my PCR result, but thankfully I have had my jabs and the symptoms are mild.

“Please make sure you come forward for your vaccine if you haven’t already.” On Tuesday, Javid, 51, was visiting a care home in Streatham, south London, and was in Parliament earlier that day. He tested positive from a lateral flow test which he took on Friday night after feeling “a bit upset” and says he is now self-isolating at home with his family.

“I was feeling a little nervous last night, so I took a lateral flow test this morning and it came back positive, so I am now self-isolating at home with my family until I get the PCR test results,” “I am grateful that I have received the vaccine twice and so far, my symptoms are very mild,” the Pakistani-origin minister said in a video posted on his Twitter account.

JA, a former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, started his new role at the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) last month Matt Hancock, who resigned kissing a colleague and former campaigner Gina Coladangelo after a leaked CCTV footage showed him Gave place of his ministerial office. From Monday, lockdown rules in England will end, with suggested guidance replacing legal norms on face masks and social gatherings.

Meanwhile, the UK’s latest daily total of coronavirus cases stands at 51,870 which is the highest figure since 15 January and 49 deaths. Some experts have called for some legal restrictions, including face masks, while infection rates remain high.
