On May 12, Uttam Bhandari, an Indian businessman, was shot dead by a police officer in Uganda, East Africa.
In the CCTV footage, the police officer Wabwire is seen having a conversation with Ivan Bhandari, when suddenly he shoots the Indian businessman. This created panic and people fled to save their lives. Seconds later, Evan is seen returning to the office. He turns over some papers and fires more bullets at the unconscious Bhandari.
The Indian High Commission in Kampala expressed its condolences to Bhandari’s family.
Ugandan authorities have arrested the officer involved in the crime.
In a statement, the Indian High Commission in Kampala said, “We stand with the bereaved Bhandari family and extend our deepest condolences. We call on President Kaguta Museveni and the Ugandan authorities to immediately arrest the perpetrators involved in this heinous crime.” Thank you for your sympathy.”
