Congress leader and former MP Udit Raj defended it on Saturday.Modi got the news of Khudegi (Modi your grave will be dug)’ remarks made by his party colleagues at the Delhi airport recently and called it ‘political language’. He said it was a “political news (political grave)” he was referring to.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Friday pulled up the Congress over the slogan, saying that people were actually saying “Modi tera kamal khilega (Modi your lotus will bloom).”
“Those who have been rejected by the country, considered unacceptable by the people and find themselves drowning in despair, are now chanting ‘Modi teri kabar khudegi’ (Modi, will dig your grave). But people on every corner India They are saying ‘Modi tera kamal khilega’.
The country will give a “befitting reply” to people with such “derogatory thinking and language”, he said, adding that “the people of Meghalaya and Nagaland will also respond.”
Congress members on Thursday allegedly raised slogans like “dictatorship will not work” and “Modi teri kabar khudegi” at the Delhi airport.
Khera was arrested in connection with an FIR over his alleged remarks against Modi, and was released on bail later the same day.
