Udhampur accident: 2 killed, 21 injured in bus accident in J&K

Srinagar: At least two people were killed and 21 others were injured when a bus met with an accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Thursday (July 7, 2022). An official said that a bus (JK14D-5050) carrying guests for the wedding function crashed after it fell into a 130-feet deep gorge at Majodi. He said a massive rescue operation has been launched.

The bus, which was on its way from Ramnagar to Chhitredi village, crashed near the village, officials said, adding that several of the injured were in critical condition.

SSP Udhampur Vinod Kumar said that he has not got the exact information yet, but there are reports of many people getting injured.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that he was saddened to hear about the tragic incident and added that he is in touch with DC Udhampur.

He tweeted, “Sad to hear about the news of road accident in Majodi, Ramnagar area of ​​Udhampur district. Just spoke to DC Ms. Krutika Jyotsna, she is constantly updating me. My condolences to the bereaved families.”
