Uddhav Thackeray dismisses patch-up talks with BJP India News – Times of India

Mumbai: Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray On Tuesday dismissed the rumors that Shiv Sena and BJP may come together again, and also slammed the opposition party for its conduct during the recently concluded monsoon session of the state legislature.
There has been speculation in the political circles for the past few days over a possible reconciliation between the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena and the BJP, which parted ways after the 2019 assembly polls.
On the question of the two parties joining hands again, he said, “Something that did not happen when we were together for 30 years, what can happen now.
Talking to the media after the end of the two-day session, the Chief Minister said that the actions of BJP members are not a sign of a healthy democracy.
12 BJP MLAs were on Monday suspended from the Assembly for a year for allegedly misbehaving with the presiding officer Bhaskar Jadhav in the Speaker’s chamber.
“What was the need for the BJP to create a ruckus over a proposal asking the Center to provide 2011 census data to enable it. State Backward Classes Commission To prepare the empirical data of OBCs…should we say that its animosity towards OBCs came to the surface?” Thackeray asked.
He said the conduct of the BJP MLAs “made us bow our heads in shame”.
“Even if you think nothing will come out of the proposal, can’t you still support it? What was the need to create a ruckus. If the Center is not giving us the data, how do you know that there are mistakes in it,” Thackeray said.
“If there were mistakes, why would there be Devendra Fadnavis The government will seek information about this in 2019,” he said.
Thackeray alleged that Monday’s commotion was an attempt to destabilize the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government.
“BJP accuses us of killing democracy and calling suspension of MLAs a dark chapter, then what are ED and CBI doing, whitewashing democracy?” he adds.
On the question of pending elections for the Speaker of the Assembly, the Chief Minister said that his government also imposes the rules of Kovid-19 on itself.
“During a pandemic, the health of the people and MLAs is important. I did a COVID test on Sunday and got the report on Monday morning. (But) about MLAs from rural areas, how can there be a 72-hour period RTPCR Testing be implemented,” he asked.
Justifying the delay in the election of Speaker and the short duration of the session, he said that in two days we can do a lot of work which will help the people.
