Udaipur tailor’s homicide: NIA makes eighth arrest, 19-year-old man held

New Delhi: A 19-year-old man, who allegedly performed an “essential function” within the conspiracy to kill a tailor in Rajasthan’s Udaipur final month, has been arrested from the state, a Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) official stated on Friday. Mohammad Javed, a resident of Sindhi Sarkar Ki Haweli, Kheradiwala, was the eighth accused arrested in reference to the grotesque killing of Kanhaiya Lal by two assailants armed with sharp-edged weapons at his store in Udaipur’s Maldas avenue, a spokesperson of the NIA stated.

“Mohammad Javed, who was arrested on Thursday, performed an essential function within the conspiracy to kill Lal by conducting reconnaissance and passing on the details about the sufferer’s presence on the store to the primary killer, Riyaz, previous to the assault,” he stated.

Lal was killed with a cleaver inside his tailoring store on June 28 and the NIA took over the case the subsequent day. Earlier, seven accused, together with the primary culprits, have been arrested throughout separate raids on June 29, July 1, July 4 and July 9.

The grotesque assault by Riaz Akhtari on the tailor was recorded on a cell phone by Ghouse Mohammad and the video was posted on-line. In one other video, the duo stated they hacked Lal to dying to avenge an alleged insult to Islam. Each have been arrested inside hours of the killing.
