Udaipur Murder Live Updates: Tension in Rajasthan city after beheading for ‘support Nupur Sharma’; both the accused arrested

A video has reportedly surfaced in which the accused has confessed to killing the youth and threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Top police officials including ADG (Law and Order) Hawa Singh Ghumaria, ADGP Dinesh MN, Jang Sri Niwas Rao, SP Rajeev Pachar and DIG Rajendra Goyal also reached the spot.

According to the police, a force of about 600 soldiers, including five companies of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary, has been sent to Udaipur. The police have appealed not to pay heed to any rumours.

A video of the attack has also surfaced in which a youth can be seen stabbing him on the neck with a sharp weapon. According to the victim’s relatives, the man had posted in support of Nupur Sharma about 10 days ago and since then he was receiving threats.

Police said that both the accused in the murder of Kanhaiya Lal have been arrested from Rajsamand. He said that reports of stone pelting are coming from the spot.

Udaipur Superintendent of Police said that a heinous murder has been committed and the incident will be thoroughly investigated. “Some of the accused have been identified. Police teams have been formed to trace the accused. We will take action on videos claiming to be of men committing this act,” the SP said.

Police said that the body is still at the scene of the incident.

The protesters have demanded Rs 50 lakh compensation to the victim’s family, job to the family members and action against the police officers who did not register the complaint.

The relatives of the victim said that she had contacted the police but she was not taken seriously.
