Prime Minister Modi had advocated early implementation of Uniform Civil Code across the country on June 27 in Bhopal. PM said- People are being instigated on Uniform Civil Code. A house cannot run by two laws. BJP will clear this confusion.

Due to this, a new debate has started in the country, due to which political parties and organizations related to personal law have come in favor and opposition. All India Muslim Personal Law Board is holding a virtual meeting today to discuss this issue.

In contrast, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan says that after 40 years, generations will remember PM Modi for ending triple talaq. Islamic law discriminates. 90% of the laws have nothing to do with Quran.

What else did Kerala LG say… 3 big things…

1. Laws Can Change, But How To Change Habits
Khan said that UCC is the need of the hour. You can change laws, but habits are very difficult to change. Some people have a habit of performing religion for vote bank. So it would be dishonest to expect any understanding from them.

2. Cases of triple talaq reduced by 95% in 5 years
PM Modi ended triple talaq in 2019. Since then till date there has been a 95% reduction in cases of triple talaq among Muslims. Those women who had wandered from door to door after triple talaq were benefited. These laws changed his life.

3. Court will not ask religion while giving justice
After the implementation of UCC, if two women go to the court in similar circumstances, the court will not ask them about their religion, but will judge them equally. Which is the right of every citizen to get. Uniform Civil Code will ensure the same thing.

Who said what on UCC, today’s updates…

  • Kerala Muslim community to fight legal battle: Panakkad Syed Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, state president of the Indian Union Muslim League in Kerala, has said that if the UCC is implemented, it will not only affect Muslims but other people as well. So we will fight a legal and political battle against it.
  • Kerala Congress will hold meeting today: Kerala Congress is holding a meeting on Wednesday. UCC can be discussed in this.
