According to a report by research firm Canalys, the Indian smart personal audio market grew by 62 percent in the third quarter of 2021. A total of 16.6 million units were shipped, with true wireless earphones being the main drivers. The overall personal audio market declined 1.2 percent to 118.8 million units, according to the latest estimates from Canalys, the report said. Markets in Western Europe and North America fell by 21 per cent and 15 per cent, respectively, the report said. According to him, this is because of Apple’s delay in shipments as consumers were waiting for the next generation AirPods.

In India, however, the personal audio equipment market grew by 62 percent in the third quarter of 2021. The TWS earphones segment was the main driver, registering a growth of 92 percent to reach 7.3 million shipments. Globally, the TWS category grew by just 1.3 per cent to 72.2 million units, the report said. On the other hand, the wireless headphones and wireless earphones category declined by 4.7 percent and 4.9 percent, respectively.

Canalis report revealed that Apple With 17.6 million units in Q3 2021, it remained the market leader worldwide, holding a market share of 24.6 per cent. However, this was a drop of 33.7 per cent from the 26.8 million units that were shipped in Q3 2020. Apple was after samsung, including the latest additions from JBL’s TWS entry-level lineup. Xiaomi Ranked third with a market share of 6.8 percent.
