Ahmedabad: A two-storey building near Dinbai Tower in Lal Darwaza area of Ahmedabad collapsed late Tuesday night.
One person is feared trapped under the debris.
A control room official of the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) said that three vehicles comprising about 30 firefighters have been sent to the spot for the rescue operation.
An ambulance has also been deployed on the spot to deal with any situation.
A team of local police has been deployed at the spot to control the crowd.
A fire brigade official said the building was about 50 years old and in a dilapidated condition. Locals allege that the walled city has many old structures that could collapse at any time.
Four such residential buildings have collapsed in the walled city area in the last two months.
