A police spokesman said two people were shot in a violent incident near the Mar Elias Monastery in Jerusalem on Friday night.
Police arrived at the scene and found two men, both residents of the Sur Baher neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
According to medical officials, they were found to be in critical condition, and were evacuated to receive medical treatment.
Police started investigating the incident.
